Service building, located in Aveiro district, destined to the acceptance and support to elderly, with several valences, namely: day care (with about 35 users), home care (to about 50 users), and nursing home (with 73 bedrooms and about 120 users). Besides users occupation described below, in this building work about 120 employees, 80 of them in permanence during the day. The building is defined for a main edifice, which has two floors. In the ground floor, are concentrated the biggest part of the common areas, entrance hall, reception, administrative areas and offices, rooms activities’, refectory,  auditorium, gym, pool, bar, kitchen, laundry, nurse room’s, bedrooms, sanitary facilities, among others like technical support zones. In the first floor, are mostly bedrooms, and the respectively sanitary facilities besides the refectory for the staff. For the form of the building, similar to a cross, the building affords facades oriented in various quadrants. The social complex consumes electrical energy and natural gas. In the inspection and analyze of the building was made a inventory of the constructive solutions which are part of the envelope of the building, was also evaluate the energetic consumption with air conditioning, (energetic auditing) and it was made a dynamic simulation of the building.  The main opportunities of rationalization identified in the energetic audition, was the collocation of the thermal insulation in the roof, the substitution of the lighting system, substitution of the systems installed for air conditioning and water sanitary heating for other with more energetic efficiency, and the installation of a thermal solar system and photovoltaic solar system.
