The service building is dedicated for student’s residence, localized in Bragança. It’s an old building, recently reclassified and opened since the beginning of 2012. The building has two floors, with the recuperation of the attic. The access for the building is made by the ground floor, (floor 0). This has an entrance hall, reception, kitchen/dining room, sanitary facilities, technical zones and five cells for dormitory. The floor 1 has eight cells for dormitories, sanitary facilities, multifunction room and a technical zone. The equipments of the building in analyze only uses electrical energy which is consumed in almost all the divisions. In the inspection and analyze of the building was made an inventory of the constructive solutions which are part of the envelope of the building, as well as the evaluation of existing constructive weakness/pathologies. Was made an identification of the weak points in a level of thermal behavior of the envelope, also supported with the infrared thermography technology. Was even evaluated the quality of the inside air, the electrical consumptions with air conditioning (energetic auditing). The opportunities of improvement identified in the energetic auditing were the substitution of the heating equipments for more efficient equipments, the reorganization of the effective electrical network avoiding the detachment of the circuits in the common areas and/or the introduction of automatic controlled systems, and the preparation of a manual of good practice and periodic actions (annual) of education of the residents, involving them for a sustainable use of the building.
